Banyen Books is the primary purveyor of new age, self-help and recovery titles in Vancouver. 3608 West Fourth Avenue. Blackberry Books is a seller of new titles on Granville Island. Duthie Books. 2239 West Fourth Avenue. Deceased, January 2010. Kestrel Books is a used bookstoire on the westside. 3642 West 4th Avenue. Kidsbooks. The name says pretty much all you need to know. 3083 West Broadway. Little Sister’s Book and Art Emporium, Vancouver’s well-known seller of Gay and Lesbian titles, along with a whack of dildoes, porn, and rainbow you-name-it. Also a good place to pick up free local publications. 1238 Davie Street. McLeod’s Books, Vancouver’s largest used bookseller may look like Vancouver’s least organised bookstore, but chances are if you ask the owner about a title, he’ll tell you exactly where it is, if he has it. You’ll likely also get a short speech about the author, binding, paper quality, and whatever else is memorable about the title. A Vancouver must-visit. 455 West Pender Street. Odin Books specialises in titles related to mental health and special needs. 1110 West Broadway. People’s Co-op Bookstore, located on Commercial Drive, is an independent bookseller that carries an excellent selection of fiction, poetry and non-fiction by local authors. 1391 Commercial Drive. Pulp Fiction, located on Main Street near the Broadway and Kingsway triangle, is a great seller of used books, with a selection of new titles. They also have a second location on West Broadway. This is a good place to trade in your vacation novels for store credit. 2422 Main Street and 3133 West Broadway. SFU Bookstore (Simon Fraser University). Locations at: Main campus (Burnaby), 8888 University Drive; Harbour Centre campus (downtown), 555 West Hastings Street. Sophia Books is a multilingual media shop downtown that carries books and magazines in Japanese, French, Spanish, Italian, German. 450 West Hastings Street. UBC Bookstore has two city locations: at the main campus, 6200 University Boulevard, and downtown at the Robson Square campus, 800 Robson Street.
