Writing to Awaken: Memoir as a Path of Transformation

In this weekend workshop, you will learn:

  • The fundamentals of personal storytelling
  • To challenge the ‘authorized versions’ of your personal myths
  • To explore your shadow materials, including the gifts you keep off-limits
  • To identify the difference between the situation and the story in memoir
  • To sharpen your writer’s eye using witness awareness
  • To confront your fears of the blank page, and befriend your own creativity
  • To establish an ongoing writing practice that works for you, where discipline and intention become your allies

Known for his penetrating work with students, Mark provides a gentle, focused, criticism-free atmosphere in which to do this transformational writing in the company of like-minded souls. He works one on one with each participant, assisting with individual projects, and offers feedback that spurs deeper exploration. All sharing is confidential and optional.  No previous writing experience is required.
