Yes! Ryeberg is thrilled to be heading to Vancouver for its first live show outside of Toronto. Four superb writers will take the stage to give short talks about whatever YouTube videos inspire them. It’s the Ryeberg you already know, but in the flesh: Ryeberg curators up on the stage, video clips up on the big screen. All set to unfold in the Cabaret Room of the very stylish Waldorf Hotel.
This time the evening’s curators are Miriam Toews, bestselling author of “A Complicated Kindness” and “Irma Voth”; Charles Demers, stand-up comedian, author of “Vancouver Special”; Michael Turner, poet, critic, and author of “Hard Core Logo” and “The Pornographer’s Poem”; and Stephen Osborne, publisher of Geist Magazine and author of “Ice & Fire: Dispatches From The New World.” Your host will be Erik Rutherford, Ryeberg Editor-In-Chief.
Save a couple bucks and get your tickets in advance. Every ticket holder will receive a free copy of Geist, Canada’s best literary magazine. Thanks Geist! There will also be very fine prizes given out on the night.
So if you happen to be in beautiful Vancouver on March 6th, plan to come to The Waldorf, have a couple drinks, watch a few YouTube videos, listen to smart people talking about them — Ryeberg Live Vancouver 2012: it’s going to be unforgettable!
